What does it look like to live at peace with others?

Here is the answer.

And it comes in two parts that depend on each other.

If I depend on God to give me all good things, I will not expect them from other people. And I will be free to do to others what I want them to do to me, without expecting reciprocity. Then I will be doing everything that is in the law and the prophets.

But how does this apply to people who have chosen to leave me?

Of course, if they have told me that they are leaving me, or have asked me not to contact them, I should honor their decisions.

Unfortunately, most of the people who choose to leave me don’t tell me anything. These people just disappear. Some of these have been very important to me. So then what?

I used to assume that I was deliberately rejected, and then give up or fight for attention. But, when nothing was said, I should not assume anything. Fighting for attention is never consistent with love. 1 Corinthians 13:5. All that remains is to politely maintain interest and wait on God.

That is what I would want them to do for me.

Next (for now): Isn’t a “Relationship” with Jesus what I need?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him. Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
