God highly values reconciliation

God values conciliation very much. And the responsibility is mine, not yours. I can't serve God while I know that you hold something against me.

God values reconciliation very highly. He takes it very seriously.

And the responsibility is mine, not yours.

I can’t serve God if I remember that you have something against me and I don’t come to you for reconciliation. This duty doesn’t require that the offense be real, or something that’s definitely wrong, just that I know you have that thing against me. And I must not wait for you to first ask me for forgiveness for your offenses against me. I must first take care of my offenses and forget about yours.

There is only one limitation: Jesus never tells me that I should guess what my offense is. If I honestly don’t know what my offense is, it isn’t obvious, and you haven’t told me, I don’t need to guess and keep guessing until I get it right. I’ve often done this, and it doesn’t work!

If I know there’s a problem, but I don’t know what it is, I must ask God to show me and wait on Him.
