Jesus is the good shepherd

Jesus is the good shepherd. The good shepherd will never abandon his sheep. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, to deliver them from danger. Jesus has done this for us.

The Sheep and the Door of their Fold

John 10:7-10: Here, Jesus changes his metaphor a bit. He still calls us his sheep who trust in him. But now he is identified as the door of our fold, the place where we are safe. Just like in the previous metaphor, everyone else who came before Jesus and tried to lead the sheep were thieves and robbers. And once…

The Story of Regina

Explanation of the letter I have written to Regina Oliveira. She was an important part of the surreal story of my life from 1984 to 1991, then she disappeared. Her love sustained us in a very difficult time. This story teaches that you can’t know how much the kindness you do today will change the world forty years from now.

An important decision about my articles

The most important lesson of the last six months of my life is: to be who I am without reservation, without restraint. I’m a teacher, not a mushroom. And I participate in a Hispanic church. Therefore, I will write in Spanish first.

Encouragers/ Exhorters: Be who you are!

Each member has his or her own gifts, which are not the same as those of other members. The Church needs all our gifts. We are to be the persons that God has made us to be fully, unreservedly, completely in proportion to the faith. To Encouragers/ Exhorters, God says: “Be who you are!” The rest of us would be in a bad place without you!

Warning: Spiritual Encouragement/ Exhortation Causes Paroxysms!

If we are doing what we are supposed to be doing, we should expect to see some earthquakes, volcanoes, seizures, fires, and other things that drastically change the lives of the people around us–though in a good direction–toward love and good deeds.

“I Want to Be Forgotten!”

A rebellion against the power of death, written as a tribute to two important people in my life who have left this existence in recent Decembers.
